A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
In case you have a Linux website hosting with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain e-mailbox that you have in your account, it’ll take literally just one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all feature can be activated effortlessly in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domain names hosted in the account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a tiny icon conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With only a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option using the menu that will pop up. If any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
